What is Twitmosaic?
twitmosaic is a website which generates custom photo mosaic images based on a set
of tags you give to it, all you need to do is follow @twitmosaic and tweet it in
the right format.
How can I make better pictures?
The best way to ensure your mosaics look half decent is to choose an image as a
template from twitpic and then use as many tags as you can, this means twitmosaic
will have the most images to choose from, the more images the better the image will
look.
Can I only use my pictures to make a mosaic? Why do I have to use other peoples images?
A separate site has been designed specifically for your own images, go to fusepic.com
to get started with making mosaics of your own images. Its still under construction
though so don't expect miracles.
How do I share my picture with others?
On each mosaic page there are share to twitter and facebook buttons, you can also
get copy and paste the url for the mosaic if you are old fashioned!
Why are you stealing people's images?
We hope that you dont really think we are stealing images, thats not really the
intention, every mosaic provides a grid with the images image id and author id so
people can find out where there images are being used.
Are the images copyrighted?
All images require only attribution.
How do i create my own mosaics using twitmosaic?
You just need to tweet twitmosaic and your mosaic will be made, it will let you
know when your mosaic is completed and then you can view it on the site, you can
even order prints and share it with others on twitter or facebook if you like.
Why does twitmosaic sometimes make crappy images?
One of the special things about twitmosaic is the way it fetches images, for each
tag it collects hundreds of related images from image repositories such as flickr,
some of these images are better than others, also if only the bare minimum of images
are available sometimes these images are repeated, so the more tags you use the
better!
Where do you get all these pictures from?
The mosaic tile images are fetched from images that are public on flickr, they are
all of type <<so and so>> and every image is linked with its original
owner on the mosaic view page.
How do you ensure that the images are properly attributed?
When images are taken from flicker the image id and owner id is noted, these are
then stored as part of the mosaic metadata, we feel that its important for image
owners to be acnowledged when mosaics are made, you can also search mosaics via
ownerid to see if any of your images are part of a mosaic
I have a business proposition for you, how can I get in touch?
